CENTRE WELLINGTON – Beginning tomorrow, the Ontario government requires patrons to be fully vaccinated (including the 14-day waiting period) and provide their vaccination receipts or medical exemption alongside government-issued identification (i.e. Birth certificate, Citizenship card, Drivers licence, Government (Ontario or other) issued identification card including health card, Indian Status Card/Indigenous Membership Card, Passport or Permanent Resident card) to access some indoor Township programs and services at the following locations:

·         The CW Community Sportsplex and the Elora Community Centre

·         The Fergus Grand Theatre

·         The Victoria Park Seniors Centre

The following proof of vaccine exemptions apply:

·         Children under 12 years of age.

·         Patrons under the age of 18 years of age who are actively participating in an organized sport, including training, practices, games and competitions.  Examples include:

o    Sports leagues

    • Martial arts
    • Swimming lessons

·         Patrons with a documented medical exemption.

Organizations such as Ontario Minor Hockey Association, Ontario Women’s Hockey Association, Skate Canada, Ringette Ontario and other sports/programming organizations may have different proof of vaccine rules.  Please check with your organizing body before entering any Township facilities.  Proof of age for exemptions may be required.

Validation of identification is considered to have been completed/successful when the name and date of birth of the presenter of the vaccination receipt and the name and date of birth on the identification document match. If the name and date of birth on both documents do not match, the individual will not be allowed to enter the business or organization.

While Ontario is still in Step 3 of the Roadmap to Reopen, health screening and contact tracing is still required.  Screening verification and proof of vaccination will be required each time a patron enters a facility.  We encourage visitors to give themselves extra time before arriving to allow for necessary screening (www.centrewellington.ca/screening) and vaccine verification prior to arrival.
