Centre Wellington Minor Hockey Association is proud to offer two memorial scholarships for the 2025–2026 season, honouring individuals who made a lasting impact on our hockey community.
Jeff Snowe
Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was created to honour our
beloved father, husband, son, and brother. Jeff passed away suddenly on March
28, 2023, at 55 years of age. Jeff played hockey for Fergus Minor Hockey as a
child and continued to be involved with the CWMHA throughout adulthood. He
loved being on the ice with his sons and their teammates. Jeff also believed in
the importance of education. He especially valued learning practical skills and
pursuing a trade. This scholarship will be awarded to a graduating U18 Local League
or Representative player. The successful candidate will demonstrate good
sportsmanship and leadership skills, and will be a strong team player. Proof of
registration to a university or college will be required. Please submit a short
essay to CWMHA explaining why you would be the best choice for this
scholarship. Essay applications will be reviewed by the CWMHA Board reps, along
with members of the Snowe family.
Terry Conroy
Memorial Scholarship
The game of hockey was important to Terry. He
felt strongly about the value of on-ice experiences, sportsmanship, and
leadership opportunities. Terry served our hockey community for over 35 years
and helped countless players develop a love for the game. He was tireless in
his support for Centre Wellington hockey and was awarded the OMHA's Patricia
Hartley Administrator's Award in 2016 in recognition of his exemplary service
in the field of Sports Administration. Terry also recognized the importance of
education in developing a well-rounded lifestyle, leading to the development of
CWMH's annual Terry Conroy scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to a
graduating U18 Local League or Representative player who is continuing to
post-secondary education. The successful candidate must demonstrate good
sportsmanship, great teamwork, and community involvement. Please submit
a short essay to CWMHA explaining why you would be the best choice for this
scholarship. Essay applications will be
reviewed by the CWMHA Board reps, along with the Conroy family.
CWMHA invites all written
essay applications to be sent to Beth McCabe, Treasurer at [email protected]. Your
essay should make specific reference to the stated criteria. Each scholarship is awarded in the amount of
$1000.00.
The deadline
for both scholarships is April 1, 2026. For more information, please contact Beth at the e-mail address
